Over the past ten years, the proportion of women on Boards across Europe has grown significantly to comply with national quotas and targets. As of March 2026, the majority of Boards of the leading publicly quoted European companies in the major economies have reached one third women Directors, or higher.
Notwithstanding this overall progress, the proportion of Board Directors with Tech & AI expertise is low - across the major European public companies, fewer than 10% of Board members with executive committee level Tech experience are women.
